大陸官方媒體新華社在今（5）日晚上七點簡短報導，證實了89年六四時期擔任北京市長的陳希同已經病逝。

新華社的報導指出「陳希同因患癌症，於2013年6月2日病亡。陳希同，男，83歲，於1998年7月31日被北京市高級人民法院判處有期徒刑16年。2006年5月31日保外就醫。」

在新華社的報導出現之前，不少外媒已經率先引述消息來源報導陳希同的死訊。
