三位美國學者法馬（Eugene Fama）、韓森（Lars Peter Hansen）和席勒（Robert Shiller）因對資產價格的經驗分析，同獲今年諾貝爾經濟學獎。

諾貝爾委員會說，未來幾天或幾周的股票和債券價格無法預測，但預測未來三、五年的趨勢卻是可能的。

法馬自1960年代開始驗證短期股價難以預測。但如果短期股價難以預測，那麼更長期股價是否更難預測？答案是否定的。席勒在1980年代初發現，長期股價可以預測。

韓森則發展出統計學方法，用於測試資產價格的合理理論。（諾貝爾官網）
