南韓初步警告電力短缺

南韓電力交易所3日發布初步能源警告，因備用電力一度降至低於450萬瓩，暗示當局近來關閉核能反應爐已引發一連串難關。當備用電力降到400萬瓩以下，南韓電力交易所將發布二級警告

當局近來關閉兩座反應爐，並延後啟動兩座新建的反應爐，原因是供應商約2008年時依偽造的品質保證，提供有瑕疵的零組件。此事也引發總統朴槿惠震怒，下令嚴格調查。

南韓關閉反應爐後，使總發電量降至7,670萬瓩，可能無法應付料將於在8月第二周達到的7,870萬瓩用電量高峰。政府因缺乏大幅提高發電量的方案，已宣布一套措施，為減少電力使用量的企業提供財務誘因，並對未能降低使用量的企業祭出罰金。
