母象疑產後憂鬱　踩踏寶寶致死

【綜合報導】德國哈雷一動物園發生一大象媽媽碧比(Bibi)，剛生產完就將自己的寶寶踩踏致死的悲劇，由於事發太突然，園方來不及搶救，寶寶當場死亡。

園方表示碧比先前已生過2胎，是個有經驗的媽媽，因此對她很放心，根本沒料到碧比會突然失控，重達3.5公噸的碧比，一產下寶寶疑似過度沮喪，隨即開始對寶寶又踩又踏，之後還用象鼻將寶寶捲起。

專家表示母象殺死寶寶相當罕見，通常媽媽會請象群內另一頭母象幫忙，在她生產時保護牠們，母象拒絕新生兒通常是因為懷疑象寶寶畸形，或是產後極度憂鬱所致。
