李嘉進接任亞協會長

外交部24日表示，亞東關係協會上午召開會員大會暨理監事聯席會議，會中通過廖了以會長請辭案，並一致推舉李嘉進接任會長。

李嘉進，現年56歲，台南市出生，國立台北大學財政系畢業，日本筑波大學經濟學碩士。民國88年首次當選立委，至98年10月為止連續當選四屆立委。98年10月獲得馬英九總統延攬進入總統府，擔任國安會諮詢委員，任內在經濟戰略、對日政策、兩岸關係等各方面積極提供建言，協助推動台日簽署投資協議、漁業協議等重大案件。

外交部指出，李嘉進具有留學日本、經濟實務、國會運作及國安諮詢等經驗，在行政、立法部門的資歷完整，尤其擅長於經貿事務，並且與日本產、官、學各界淵源深厚。
