微軟將在澳洲打造新雲端運算中心

全球最大軟體公司微軟（Microsoft）將在澳洲打造兩座新的「雲端」運算資料中心，擴大在該國的網路資料代管和處理服務。

微軟21日表示，將在澳洲的新南威爾斯和維多利亞省興建資料中心，出租運算能力和儲存空間等技術資源。微軟正在拓展Windows Azure業務，要將澳洲其他地區也納入服務範圍。

微軟澳洲伺服器和工具主管鮑爾斯（Toby Bowers）說：「微軟會將客戶資料複製到這兩座中心，讓這些資料備份在澳洲兩個不同的地方。我們知道提供災害復原服務，及確保達到資料主權（data sovereignty）的目標，對許多客戶而言相當重要。」
