美8月預算赤字縮小

官方數據顯示，美國8月預算赤字比去年同期萎縮，使全年度赤字維持在五年來低點。

美國財政部12日公布，8月預算赤字比去年同期下滑22.5%至1,480億美元，主因是稅收小幅增加且支出大幅減少。

由去年10月至今年8月，即本會計年度的前11個月，預算赤字為7,550億美元，比去年度同期下降35%。這期間稅收增加13%至2.47兆美元，支出減少3.9%至3.19兆美元。

本會計年度將於9月底截止。國會預算辦公室預估，本月政府將出現預算盈餘，使全年度赤字縮減至6,420億美元，將是五年來赤字首度低於1兆美元。

報告顯示，8月政府稅收比去年同期增加4%至1,850億美元，支出縮減10%至3,330億美元。

未來幾周，歐巴馬政府將向國會提出明年度預算案，預料和共和黨將有一場硬仗要打。共和黨已揚言杯葛預算案，逼迫政府進一步削減開支與撤銷大規模的健保改革法案。
