美國航空與全美合併案獲准

聯邦法官已批准美國航空（American Airlines）母公司AMR集團與全美航空（US Airway）藉合併來脫離破產保護的計畫，如今就剩美國政府的反壟斷訴訟，成為雙方合併的最後阻礙。

曼哈頓美國破產法院法官蘭恩（Sean H. Lane）12日批准這項交易，這意味如果AMR和全美贏得司法部提起的反壟斷訴訟，或是雙方達成和解，合併計畫將生效。

蘭恩說：「如果延後批准，這項交易所得到的廣泛支持將面臨不必要的風險。」他強調，此案大部分相關人士都支持併購案。

司法部警告，這項締造全球最大航空公司的合併案，將扼殺市場競爭力，導致票價和費用上漲，選擇也變少，對消費者不利。

美航和全美則主張，併購案將壓低成本、讓消費者擁有更多選擇，並可與靠併購擴大規模的聯合大陸控股公司（UCH）和達美航空（Delta）分庭抗禮。
