財長：聖誕節前更新聯邦預算

【大紀元2013年10月16日訊】（大紀元記者張妮澳洲悉尼編譯報導）澳洲財政部長霍基（Joe Hockey）打算在聖誕節前，而不是先前所說的明年1月，公佈更新的年中財政預算報告。

據澳新社消息，身在紐約的霍基警告道，在一段時間內澳洲經濟增長仍將低於平均水平，聯邦政府決心要實現盈餘，但是會按照切實可行的時間進度表來達成目標。

更新的預算報告將包括對外部因素造成的影響進行更實際的評估。霍基說：「以前承諾的不可能實現的開支和還未撰寫草案的提稅意見將全部被拋棄。」

新一屆聯邦議會11月開始後的首要任務之一，就是通過立法提高聯邦3000億澳元的債務上限。霍基說前工黨政府已經四次提升了債務上限，這種作法「只能增添不確定性」。霍基認為這次上限提升後，應該通過謹慎的金融管理手段加以遵守。
