1950年代消失 佝僂病重返英國

美聯社8日報導，英國新生兒罹患「嬰兒軟骨病」的病例漸增，嬰幼兒軟骨病又名佝僂病，為嬰幼兒時期最常見的營養缺乏症。嬰兒體內缺乏維生素D，造成腸道內的鈣與磷吸收不良，無法積著在骨頭內，導致嬰兒身形、手腳彎曲。

嬰兒軟骨病在維多利亞時期肆虐英國，1950年代一度銷聲匿跡，如今又出現確診病例且有增加趨勢。英國首席醫療官莎莉‧戴維斯11月建議政府發放免費的維他命錠給所有五歲以下的兒童。
