香港民航處說，香港機場兩條跑道會在2015年飽和。

香港民航處今天說，屆時每小時會處理最高容量的68航班，而現時每小時的處理量已達64班，年底更達65班。

香港民航處又說，已同大陸及澳門民航部門，達成珠三角空域運用的共識，並獲兩地支持香港興建第三條跑道。

香港民航處反駁指第三條跑道無助改善航班升降的評論，說香港來往大陸航班的延誤比率，實際只占1.5%，而香港兩條跑道的航班處理飽和量，較倫敦希思羅機場低，主要是各地因應地形、空域結構及國際民航組織最新指引去計算。
