李遠哲演講 談低碳社會與糧食安全

中研院前院長李遠哲今天到台南善化亞蔬世界蔬菜中心演講「低碳社會的糧食安全」，他全程以英語演講，強調工業與科技發展造成大量碳排放，帶來的溫室效應近來逐漸看到苦果，例如全球各地連年洪水氾濫，這在上世紀難得一見，呼籲世界各國政府與科學家合作，推動節能減碳。

李遠哲演講結束後回答記者問題時表示，台灣減少碳排放做得比其他國落後很多，例如鼓勵車輛省油等很多「實質的事」，政府都沒有努力去做，只做些「皮毛的事」，例如每隔一陣子就喊關燈一小時、推垃圾分類之類的。

他說，全世界沒有一個國家的餐廳冷氣開這麼冷，政府應該重視，他即將前往日本，與日本政界與各國學者討論參與減緩溫室效應「這些大的問題」。他表示自己通曉日語，在日本政府高層參加研討時，能直接反映問題的嚴重性。
